REMEMBER WHEN: MACHEDA WAS THE STAR

January 12th, 2012 by admin

The last game of Manchester United with New England was quite stunning and spectacular and it ended up in high spirits for all the Manchester United fans along with the officials of the club itself.  However amongst the fan fare frenzy there Alex Ferguson was pretty much impressed with Federico Macheda.

Federico was the star for the night as he managed to raise the standards of game play for Manchester United with his two goals scored at the 54th and the 60th minute respectively. Federico Macheda is definitely a key player in the eyes of the coach and the manager. He had been on a loan the last season and with his comeback, he has shown that he is capable of performing par excellence and maintaining the standards that Manchester United has set.

Federico Macheda might not have had such a good season last year and lost to Sampdoria, but Sir Alex Fergusson continues to keep his hopes up for this Italian striker. He has managed to even put in a word to the media by showing them that his hopes are proving to be fruitful and there is definitely some potential within Federico that has helped him to bring about such an amazing array of skill and performance. The match played against New England was just outstanding and had a World Class finish to the game. The performance delivered by Federico Macheda today was something that cannot be compared to anything else. The main focus that Federico needs to make now is that he has to hold his stand and ensure that he manages to perform in a similar fashion in the matches to come so that he can make up for the ill spoken about him in the previous season. After all, a player’s credibility and success is all on his current performance and show of skills.

MACHEDA OFF TO WIGAN?

January 10th, 2012 by admin

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is believed to be close to signing Manchester United striker Federico Macheda on loan deal in the January transfer window.

Federico Macheda has found chances limited at Old Trafford, and it is thought that manager Sir Alex Ferguson would be willing to let him go on loan in order to improve his experience. Moving on a loan deal is something that is not new to Federico Macheda, as the Italian striker has already been on a loan move to Italy. However, it is thought that Sir Alex Ferguson would prefer a loan deal in the Premier League so that he is much more useful to Manchester United in the future.

Wigan Athletic took Tom Cleverley on loan last season and it proved to be a great spell for the youngster. Since replacing Paul Scholes in the middle, Tom Cleverley has been one of the most influential players for Manchester United and he was sorely missed in the 6-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City. Now, Alex Ferguson is set to adopt the same approach for Federico Macheda as well. It is thought that Federico Macheda would be spending six months on loan at the DW Stadium before returning to Manchester United at the start of the new season.

MACHEDA OUT OF CARLING CUP

December 8th, 2011 by admin

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda was part of the team that lost in the League Cup quarter-finals to Crystal Palace. Manchester United would had the chance to go into the semifinals of cup competition, but were denied by a brilliant Crystal Palace side.

After failing to take his chances, Federico Macheda apologist on Twitter that he was extremely sorry for the Manchester United fans, who had to see United lose at home to lower League opposition. Even though Federico Macheda converted a penalty, which gave United the advantage, he was not able to take the other chances presented to him.

The penalty was extremely crucial in that it provided Manchester United with the opportunity to take the game into extra time. However, it was Crystal Palace who performed exceptionally well in the extra time to snatch a late winner, thus meaning that United never got the chance to take the game to penalties. Federico Macheda made his debut for Manchester United in 2008, but has not been in the first-team picture in the last few years. In fact, he spent the majority of last season on loan.

His return to the first team action this season meant that he would be played in the Carling cup matches, which turned out to be true against Crystal Palace.

However, it remains to be seen if Federico Macheda will be able to make it into Sir Alex Ferguson’s first-team plans. After the defeat, Federico Macheda said: “We have to move on from yesterday! These things happen to every team! And Saturday we’re looking to bring back a victory vs villa! I feel bad for all our fans! That wasn’t a man u performance! Sorry lads! I understand your pain!!!”

The injury to Javier Hernandez, though, is crucial for Federico Macheda’s chances at Old Trafford.
